The Minister of Development pointed out that "our economy is growing at a rate more than double the eurozone average, but the productivity stakes are crucial"

“In a world that is changing rapidly amid wars, trade protectionism and with Europe’s strategic footprint decreasing on the global map, Greece is faced with major challenges and risks,” Minister of Development, Takis Theodorikakos, noted from the podium of the 4th Economic Conference organized by “N”.

“By maintaining fiscal reliability, responsibility and the successes of recent years, we must accelerate the productive transformation of the economy and at the same time address the major demographic problem and the great inequalities in society and in the regions. And this deserves to be our new national collective vision and our plan. And if we do not implement it, we will not be able to support the high military spending we have in order to ensure the security of the country,” underlined Theodorikakos.“An economy that produces, exports, creates wealth”

The Minister of Development pointed out that “our economy is growing at a rate more than double the eurozone average, but the productivity stakes are crucial. A secure Greece is only the most productive and competitive Greece. That is why we need stronger industry, competitive manufacturing, strengthening a modernized primary sector, extroversion and innovation. An economy that produces, exports and creates wealth for all, with new jobs and especially in the periphery.”

Referring to the work entrusted to the Ministry of Development, Theodorikakos noted: “We changed the philosophy and practice of the development law, essentially giving incentives for productive investments that create added value in the Greek economy.”

“We are implementing and accelerating an extensive reform program to make it easier to do business, especially in our industry, with a bill that will be voted on in November. We are simplifying the process of modernizing manufacturing facilities, making the operating framework of industrial and business parks more flexible. We are further digitizing the licensing process with a complete upgrade of the openbusiness platform. And we are introducing the digital business activity card,” said the Minister of Development.
