Barilla Hellas’s turnover rose 7.5% to 133.8 million euros, compared to 124.5 million euros in 2023. This growth was mainly driven by the bakery and sauces categories, as well as the Group’s dynamic export activity.
At the same time, the diversification of the portfolio increased gross profits by 12.6% to 58.1 million euros, compared to last year, with the gross profit margin reaching 43.4%, almost two percentage points higher than in 2023. Accordingly, profits before taxes showed a significant increase, reaching 6.5 million euros.
According to the announcement, the positive course of the financial results takes on even greater significance when considering that it was achieved in a volatile international environment. Inflationary pressures continue to be a major issue for the company, mainly due to increased energy costs but also other factors affecting the entire value chain. At the same time, the reduction in consumer purchasing power has led many citizens to choose private label products. However, the normalization of market conditions and intense competitiveness have contributed to the stabilization of prices and the reduction of inflation. In some categories, such as pasta, the de-escalation is now evident.
Investments
Barilla Hellas continues to invest in Greece, with projects that focus on sustainable development and environmental responsibility. According to the company, as part of the Industry 4.0 program, the installation of a new 2MW photovoltaic plant was completed in June 2025, at the Thiva factory. Combined with the previous project of 2022 (1MW plant on the roof of the warehouse), these facilities will cover approximately 40% of the factory’s annual electricity consumption. This investment translates into significant benefits: Reduction of CO2 emissions by 760 tons per year, savings in operating costs and greater energy autonomy. With eyes on the future, the company is also planning new investments, which will concern the technological upgrade of the facilities, the improvement of storage and ventilation, as well as additional energy upgrade actions.
