Jobless rate up in Q4 2015, to 24.4%

The unemployment rate in recession-plagued Greece rose to 24.4 percent in Q4 2015, up from 24 percent in the previous quarter, the EL.STAT statistics service announced on Thursday.

The peak came in the first quarter of 2014, when the unemployment rate stood at 27.8 percent. Moreover, 74.3 percent of the country’s 1.17 million jobless are defined as long-term unemployed.
