DEI blue: European funding for the installation of fast charging points

The new DEI blue ultra-fast chargers will be installed in 13 areas nationwide

The Public Power Corporation secured European funding for the further development of the DEI blue network of ultra-fast chargers (HPDC), through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) funding mechanism.

In the framework of the 21-EL-TC-ESEERT “Electrifying Southeast Europe Road Transport”, DEI blue is proceeding with the installation and operation of a total of 34 fast charging points in 2X150 kW charging stations, with a total power of up to 300 kW.

The new DEI blue ultra-fast chargers will be installed in 13 areas nationwide, enhancing, according to the company, the presence, quality and coverage of the DEI blue electric car charging network on key roads in the country. With energy that comes exclusively from Renewable Energy Sources, the new DEI blue fast charging points will be easily accessible by disabled people, who will have priority.

With the addition of the new ultra-fast chargers at key points of the Greek road network, DEI blue significantly strengthens its nationwide public network of fast chargers that lists more than 200 points (DC), of which 36 are ultra-fast charging points up to 300 kW (HPDC), thereby facilitating electric car travel.

The General Manager of Electric Mobility of DEI, Kyriakos Kofinas, said in this regard: “The bet of electric mobility is a national bet and DEI blue is a key player in the development of the infrastructure and applications that lead to its achievement. In this direction, we cooperate with the Connecting Europe Facility and jointly invest in the rapid spread of fast charging, in key points throughout Greece. The development of green mobility for a more sustainable future is a common goal and we will achieve it through synergies and cooperation.”

DEI underlined that, as a leading force in energy, responding to its commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection, it recognized its role for the penetration and development of electric mobility in the country.
