Hellenic Cables: Submarine cable supply contract with Seaway 7

Hellenic Cables and Seaway7 signed a deal for the EastAnglia 3 offshore wind farm being developed by Scottish Power Renewable.

According to an announcement, the partnership demonstrates Hellenic Cables’ commitment to providing high-quality cable solutions for renewable energy sources and confirms its position as a leading company in the sector.

The East Anglia 3 offshore wind farm is located approximately 69 km northeast of the Suffolk coast in the UK and will have an installed capacity of 1,400 MW. The project will generate enough green electricity to power more than one million households. It is expected to be the second largest offshore wind farm in the world.

Based on the contract, Hellenic Cables will undertake the design, manufacture, testing and supply of approximately 275 km of 66kV AC three-pole submarine cables and their accessories. Production of the cables is expected to begin in 2024.

The cables will be produced at Hellenic Cables’ modern submarine cable factory with vertically integrated production in Corinth.
