Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is visiting Latvia on Monday, the first visit by a Greek prime minister to the country in the last twenty years.
During his contacts, bilateral economic cooperation and migration issues are expected to be discussed.
According to government sources, Mitsotakis will meet with the Latvian Prime Minister, Krišjānis Kariņš, with whom he will discuss the strengthening of economic cooperation between the two countries.
The same sources also pointed out that the issue of migration will also be raised during the prime minister’s contacts in Riga, Latvia, recalling that Latvia is faced with the phenomenon of instrumentalization of migration on its border with Belarus from 2021, in which it is expected until end of 2024 to have completed the construction of a permanent fence.
