Sueddeutsche Zeitung praises Tsipras as incomparable in implementing memorandum reforms

Germany’s standing opposition to immediate and generous debt relief for Greece may cause the collapse of Alexis Tsipras’ government and a return of the Greek crisis to the forefront, the Tuesday edition of “Sueddeutsche Zeitung” proclaimed, while also directing criticism at Berlin.

In a rare position review of the leftist Greek premier by a major European mass media outlet, Sueddeutsche Zeitung lauds the Tsipras government’s track record on reforms, while saying a recent Cabinet reshuffle was an exercise in good faith towards creditors.

Tsipras, in fact, is branded as absolutely successful as far as creditors are concerned. “It’s an irony of history that international creditors, who did not want to see him in power, must now admit that he is second to none (in terms of implementing the memorandum).”
