Attica Bank confirms its interest in HSBC Malta

The Bank is expected to make an announcement if an agreement is reached

Attica Bank confirmed that it has entered the race for HSBC Malta.

Following the publication of the Times of Malta on the ongoing process of selling the shares of HSBC Malta, Attica Bank confirmed that it has expressed interest in participating in the above process and acquiring the shares.

The Bank is expected to make an announcement if an agreement is reached.

More specifically, Times of Malta reported: “Attica Bank of Greece has entered the race for HSBC Malta, becoming the first foreign EU bank to submit an offer.

The bank’s bid is believed to be viewed favourably by both the Greek and Maltese governments, allowing it to avoid many of the pitfalls that have plagued other bids so far.”
