Egnatia: Two projects in Terna – Intrakat

The joint venture Terna-Intrakat was declared the temporary contractor - underbidder with a discount of 3.14% and 2.91% respectively

The joint venture Terna-Intrakat was declared temporary contractor by Egnatia Odos S.A. for two projects, with a total budget of approximately 160 million euros (including VAT), related to the operation of the highway in the western and eastern sectors.

The joint venture Terna-Intrakat was declared the temporary contractor – underbidder with a discount of 3.14% and 2.91% respectively (bids of 85.2 million and 70.88 million euros, a total of 156 million euros).

The basic obligations of the contractor for both projects are the technical policing, the operation, the basic or preventive maintenance works as well as the upgrading – improvement of all civil engineering works of the motorway and its vertical axes – open road construction and tunnels – for 24 (twenty four) months in the specific sections.

It is recalled that the signing of the contract for the 35-year concession of Egnatia Road with the joint venture GEK Terna – Egis is pending. When the highway will be transferred to the responsibility of the concessionaire, the related projects will be implemented by GEK Terna.

Regarding the concession contract for which GEK Terna – Egis gave an offer of 1.496 billion euros, its audit by the Court of Auditors is pending. As regards the final amount that the consortium will pay to the public, it will probably be different from the aforementioned as an interest rate risk clause is calculated at the closing of these contracts. The most recent estimate of the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF) is that the concession of Egnatia will start in the first half of 2023.
