The biggest known asteroid will pass Earth on 21 March 2021.   The asteroid was discovered on 23 March 2001   Asteroid 2001 FO32 is estimated to be about 1 km in diameter.   Although there’s no risk of impact, the space rock is of interest   Because it’s one of the fastest space rocks known to fly by Earth.   It’s traveling at about 34.4 km per second, relative to Earth.   For comparison earth travel 30 km/s around the Sun.   It will be the biggest asteroid of 2021 to come this close.   Since 2001 FO32 is good-sized and occasionally passes near Earth,   it’s been classified as a Potentially Hazardous Asteroid.   Its orbit is well known, and it poses no risk of impact.   The closest approach will occur at 16:o3 UTC on March 21   At its closest, it will be 2,016,351 km from Earth   Though asteroid will be too faint to be seen with the naked eye   But it will be visible with an 8" or larger diameter telescope   Its encounter with Earth will occur on 22 March 2052   However, the 2021 approach will be its closest to earth for the next 200 years   ----------------------------------------------   👉 Copyright Disclaimer   Copyright Disclaimer under Section 107 of the copyright act 1976, allowance is made for fair use for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, scholarship, and research.
