A helicopter used for aerial spraying went down in a marshy area at the Schinas site, in the eastern Attica township of Marathon, on Friday morning with two fatalities reported.
The two victims were removed by rescued crews from the wreckage.
Local residents had freed another man from the downed chopper, a university student, who was slightly injured.
The victims were the aircraft’s pilot and a warden for the Schinas wetlands area. Earlier reports had incorrectly listed the pilot as the survivor.
According to initial reports, the helicopter became entangled with high-voltage power lines at the site.
Moreover, subsequent unverified information claims that the warden was livestreaming the flight via Facebook just before the crash.
