Fraport Greece on Friday announced an 11.4-percent increase in passenger traffic at the 14 regional airports it manages around the country for September 2017, or 4.2 million passengers in absolute terms.

Compared to the same month in 2016 – when the airports were still managed by the Greek state – domestic passenger traffic increased by double digits at the airports of Zakynthos, Mykonos, Cephallonia, Santorini, Kos and Samos.

The overall increase in international passengers was 12.6 percent (yoy), with the airports of Mytilene (Lesvos), Kos, Mykonos, Aktio, Samos, Santorini and Thessaloniki topping the list.

Between January and September 2017, the number of passengers passing through Fraport Greece’s 14 airports reached 23.9 million – an increase of 10.5 percent in relation to the same period of 2016. Fraport assumed management of the airports in April.
