Vandalism of monument on site of one-time Jewish cemetery in Thessaloniki again vandalized

A monument commemorating the Jewish cemetery that once stood on the grounds of the current Aristotle University of Thessaloniki was again vandalized on Friday, with vandals tearing off and breaking commemorative plaques.

The incident is the second over the recent period that the monument has been targeted, with a similar vandalism reported last July.

The cemetery was destroyed by occupying Nazi forces in 1942.
