Mitsotakis again calls for snap election

Main opposition New Democracy (ND) leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Tuesday was again quoted as demanding snap elections in recession-battered Greece, with Handelsblatt publishing a relevant article under the headline “We paid dearly for Tsipras”.

“The damage increases with every day that this government remains in power,” the German mass daily quotes Mitsotakis as saying, while blaming the leftist government for derailing a recovery in the country that emerged in 2014.

“(Greek PM Alexis) Tsipras does not serve the country’s interests,” he charged.
