Exhibition “The Greeks: Agamemnon to Alexander the Great” concludes in Washington D.C.

The iconic exhibition “The Greeks: Agamemnon to Alexander the Great” will open at the last venue on its North American itinerary on June 2 in Washington D.C. after debuting in Montreal’s Pointe-à-Callière in December 2014.

Afterwards, it transferred to the Canadian Museum of History in Ottawa, followed by the Field Museum in Chicago.

The exhibition showcases how the ancient Greeks viewed themselves, their society, and their gods, with particular emphasis on the birth of western democracy, philosophy, and theatre.

To date it has attracted nearly half a million visitors. It features 550 exhibits from 21 museums in Greece.
