Greek banks eye higher charges for ATM inter-bank transactions; one report points to 3€ charge

Greek banks are expected to announce higher rates for inter-bank withdrawals from ATMs, with some reports pointing to an “astronomical” surcharge of three euros per inter-bank transaction.

The new rates are expected to be implemented within July.

Analysts point to yet another effort by Greece’s thrice bailed-out banks to increase revenues and to better deal with the cost of maintaining a very large ATM network in Greece.
