Veteran Greek politician Arsenis dies

Veteran Greek politician and economist Gerasimos Arsenis died on Tuesday at the age of 85.

He served as a minister, including the portfolio of national economy, in several socialist PASOK governments and even founded his own party in the late 1990s.

Arsenis at one point served as director of the OECD’s Department of Economic Studies and Research Centre in Paris.

His widow is the president of the board of National Bank of Greece, Louka Katseli.
