An Athens first instance court on Wednesday rejected a motion by the Halyvourgiki company, which owns and operated Greece’s biggest and oldest steel mill, to overturn an injunction against it by the Public Power Corp. (PPC) for 30.4 million euros in arrears owed to the electricity utility.
Efforts to find a compromise between the loss-making steel producer and the dominant power utility, over the past few months, failed.
PPC eventually requested that the grid operator discontinue the power supply to the industrial unit.
