Zaev, Dimitrov attend Greek Independence Day reception in Skopje

Dramatically improved bilateral relations between Greece and the newly christened North Macedonia – in the wake of the recently implemented Prespa agreement – were prominently on display in Skopje on Friday, as the country’s prime minister Zoran Zaev, attended a reception in honor of Greek Independence Day.

The reception was held at a downtown Skopje hotel and hosted by Greece’s liaison office in Skopje and the country’s highest-ranked accredited diplomat in North Macedonia, Amb. Dimitris Yiannakakis.

North Macedonia FM Nikola Dimitrov was also in attendance, while the top Greek official in Skopje, and also in attendance, was Deputy Foreign Minister Markos Bolaris. The latter will participate in a joint inter-scientific committee of experts convening on issues affecting education, archaeology and history.

Monday, March 25, is Greek Independence Day.
