A circular issued by Greece’s finance ministry on Friday cites a 2.3-percent forecast for GDP growth in 2018, down from 2.5 percent included in the state budget for the year.
The circular was signed by Alternate Economy Minister Giorgos Chouliarakis, and sent to ministries and all public sector entities as part of compiling a memorandum-mandated medium-term fiscal program strategy for 2019-2022.
The same circular includes a forecast for a 2.5-percent GDP hike for 2019 – when a general election is scheduled to take place – but gradually dropping to 1.8 percent by 2022.
The ministry predicts a 0.8-percent inflation figure for 2018; 1.3 percent for 2019; 1.6 percent in 2020; 1.8 percent in 2021 and 1.9 percent in 2020.
