The Greek economy grew by 1.9 percent in 2018, according to figures released on Thrusday by the country’s statistics authority (EL.STAT), rate lower than the initial target.
In a breakdown, the agency said Q4 2018 GDP growth reached 1.6 percent, compared to the same quarter of 2017, while dropping off by 0.1 percent from the growth rate of the preceding quarter, Q3 2018.
Over the first nine months of 2018, the economy grew by 2.1 percent on an annualized rate.
The goal by the Greek government was a 2.1 GDP growth rate for 2018.
The negative performance for Q4 2018 was the first in 10 straight quarters for the recovering Greek economy.
