EZ source: Creditors’ reps not ready to return to Athens

By Nikos Bellos

The chief representatives of Greece’s institutional creditors are apparently not ready to return to Athens for talks with the Greek government, as deadlines loom to finalize the first evaluation of the “Greek program”.

A Eurozone source in Brussels made the statement in light of Monday’s EWG meeting, which convened ahead of next Monday’s regular Eurozone ministers’ meeting.

EZ finance ministers’ representatives were briefed on Monday evening over the progress in talks with the Greek government. Moreover, the same source said the IMF’s tough stance vis-à-vis reforms in Greece’s fiscal policy remains, something that appears to be at odds with the other creditors (EU Commission, ECB).
