Tsipras in Jerusalem on Thur. for meeting with Netanyahu, Anastasiades

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is in Jerusalem on Thursday for a three-country meeting between the prime ministers of Israel, Cyprus and Greece, i.e. his counterparts Nikos Anastasiades and host Benjamin Netanyahu.

The meeting between the trio of regional leaders is the second in 2016, with a joint statement expected along with the signing of an agreement in the research and technology field. Energy and tourism issues, among others, will also be discussed, and possibly political developments in the wider area, a “catchphrase” that often means Turkey.

The leftist Greek premier will also pay a visit to the Jerusalem Orthodox Patriarchate.
