A management shakeup is apparently on the horizon for German multinational Ceconomy’s subsidiary in Greece, in the wake of the departure of the latter’s CEO, Dimitris Katravas, late last month.
According to reports, the retailer’s subsidiary in the east Mediterranean country, MediaMarkt Greece, will be taken over temporarily by ΜediaMarkt Turkey CEO Jenal Gokyildirim, and until the parent company decides on whether to select another top manager from the domestic market or opt for another option.
MediaMarkt has announced investments of 24.4 million USD in neighboring Turkey for 2018, including the opening of 20 new branches.
Katravas joined the electronics and appliances retailer in Greece in 2006, taking over its helm in 2011.
